About Karel

Karel has spent much of his life observing people interacting with others, their world, and themselKarelonLifeHabits.jpgves; read widely about improving the human condition, optimizing the interactions between people, and driving effective organizational change; and practiced what he's learned. He has Ph.D. level training in Psychology, Cognitive Science, and Human-Computer Interaction, has taught university, conducted research, and has worked for a major multinational corporation for over 20 years and is currently director of design. Karel has taught, led, managed, and mentored thousands of people over the years. He's also a father of four with kids ranging in age from 11 to 22. Reflections on the formal and informal mentoring he's done over the years has led to the realization that he has insights, thoughts, and experiences that would be beneficial to share in this podcast series. Enjoy.

Hello! It was nice talking to you. I came upon this website and am wondering if there is captioning or transcript provided for any audio podcast on this site?

Hi Pam, thanks for your interest in the podcast. The third tab at the top of this site provides the quotes and top 10 lists discussed on the podcast episodes. However, additional information isn’t available at this time but may well be in the near future given some technology advances that are being tracked.

    Hi Karel,

I just have to say thank you a thousands times. I downloaded all the episodes that I can for Life Habits from iTunes. I listen nearly every night. Not only does your voice help to lull this usual insomniac to sleep, but I am learning so very much from you! You are so patient, kind, and personable, and I receive great nuggets of gold from every single show. I usually listen for about two shows worth and then drift off to dreamland to let all that you have shared sink in. Thank you!!!

    Please continue to enlighten us!

    Sincerely,

    Cindy Erickson

Hi Karel, Thank you for the gentle prompt in your recent podcast about providing feedback! I think it is very important, and I can only imagine it could feel very isolated putting all the effort into your podcasts and not getting any response! I have only got into listening to podcasts over the last 6 months or so and have been so very impressed by the variety of podcasts available. I have listened to all your podcasts and have found them very easy to listen to. I love the format with the quotes and the top ten list. Your style is very gentle and encouraging and obviously full of wisdom. I have learnt much, and look forward to your future topics. You will be pleased to know I have also added a rating and a review to the Australian iTunes site! :-) Keep up the great work- and know it is appreciated. Cheers, Alison

    Karel,

I love your podcast episodes. You voice tone and rhythm make it so easy to listen. Plus, I really learn well from the content that you put out. Do you know if there is any French equivalent to your podcast? Of course, it would not be the same but have you heard about a francophone podcast that would treat similar subjects on a professional manner, as you do it so well.

    Regards,

    Karel,

I can’t agree more with the last comment from Marie-eve. Your mentoring advice is the best podcast I have ever come across. I look forward to your future comments, and will continue to listen to past episodes too.

Can’t thank you enough for taking the time to share your ideas with us. I’ve posted a link to your website on my Facebook page.

Hi Karel, Your last podcast on assertiveness was a great listen…also was nice to hear my name and comment at the end of the podcast! As an introvert, i could relate to many things you talked about. I would like to suggest a future podcast - knowing when to quit or persist. I have caught up with all your podcast and am glad when a new one is posted.

Hi Karel, I have recently took up in downloading and listening to your podcasts at first I was skeptical to see what material was being offered but then when I listened to one of them it was almost like an addiction where I had to go from one podcast to the other to get valuable insight on certain topics which intensified what I have been reading basically having to concrete my learning process in making small steps in not only understanding but implementing it into my own life which in turn has made me feel a lot more at peace knowing that there is sources out there that can get me to think the way I want but coming from someone elses viewpoints and I guess as many people have mentioned that your podcasts are personal and engaging whereas ebooks are just from one line to the next. I enjoy having to hear the podcasts and would love to hear more as to what other topics or areas of habits which can be emphasized to make a difference in not only in a personal level but others as well. Thanks for the podcasts and please do keep it up, i’ll be listening and repeating them until it becomes a habit for I believe change is persistent when you are motivated for change in lines of the right way which I find is a way of helping others :) . Thanks again and please keep it up its good stuff!!! Andrew

I recently discovered your podcasts and I like them very much. I’m 55, trying to balance a lot of things right now, work, looking for a new job, volunteer work, family and health and money are concerns also. Trying to keep everything in perspective when there are pressures from all sides is a balancing act in itself.

I like many of the topics you’ve spoken about. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

    Karel

My name is Dr. Errol Gluck, and I am a New York City-based Executive Life Coach and Clinical Hypnotist. I, too, host a podcast called GluckRadio . I’m a fan of your podcast, specifically the episode on bullying (we did a similar one), and I want to see what we can do to collaborate.

First of all, I would love to be on your show to talk about the benefits of hypnosis and life coaching in attaining your goals - both personal and professional. I’ve been coaching people for the last 35 years to get them to reach their goals. I’ve amassed quite the powerful clientele, treating everyone from Fortune 500 CEOs to your average person looking to lose ten pounds. wouldn’t be promotional, but informative as I have a lot to say about hypnosis, coaching, motivation and decision-making.

Furthermore, I’d like to cross-pollinate. We’d love to promote you on our blog and mailing list. As I said, I listened to your show and think that there’s a lot to get from it. I hope you’d feel the same about my show. Cross-promotion is one of the healthiest and successful forms of promotion.

Let’s talk. Give me a call at 212-599-3195 or email me at gluckradio@gmail.com

    Thanks so much!

    Dr. Gluck
